How did this watering hole get the name Devil's Pool? Here is the quick version of the tale that locals tell. It is based on the Lenni Lenape Indians and it involved a fight between good and evil. The good guy won and tossed the evil guy (Devil) into the pool. This evil spirit remains beneath the water.
